Astrology may help reveal who has the best chance of winning the 2025 presidential race after the second round of the election was canceled. This event occurred when Mars was stationary on December 8, 2024. This election symbolized a long wait for stability and the return of international business confidence.
May 4th, 2025, astrological transits
The voting day opens at 7 a.m., with the Moon just separating from its conjunction with Mars in Leo.
Just like in 2024—when Venus was conjunct Neptune in Pisces, evoking dreamy, illusory sentiment—this year’s Venus–Neptune conjunction (now in Aries) also plays a strong role, though its bold, impatient tone shifts public sentiment dramatically.
This astrological configuration suggests that the current election will favor candidates with more direct, bold, and assertive messages.
Even though it is possible, people will not necessarily vote for a candidate with an assertive Aries–Libra axis (Sun, Mars, or supporting stellium), qualities that will likely resonate with voters.
Pisces’s energy during last year’s election was leaning toward confusion and surrender, while Aries’s energy from 2025 is impulsive initiative and decisive action.
So it is no longer about idealistic Piscean energy anymore; it is now a frustrating call to action.
Venus is debilitated in Aries but makes a trine to Mars in Leo, creating a tense but motivating drive to get out and vote.
Venus is now separating from Saturn, a positive shift that indicates the release of depressive or restrictive energy. This transit supports engagement with reality and encourages voters to seek pragmatic solutions rather than illusions.
Between 7 a.m. and 9 p.m. (Romanian time), Uranus moves through the 12th house (mundane astrology), indicating that early voting behavior may be shaped by isolationist attitudes or blame. This reactive tone may soften as the day progresses.
The co-presence of the Sun and Uranus in the 12th house speaks about the seemingly unseen until now. Therefore, the ill, the misfortuned, and the martyrs will vote in these hours.

Conversely, when these two planets come to the 7th house, people who don’t have the best intentions for the country could show up to vote from 18:56 onward.

Elena Lasconi’s natal astrological chart
Her natal Moon receives supportive trines from Venus, Saturn, and Neptune. Neptune’s trine to her Moon may attract emotionally idealistic support, much like Georgescu experienced in December.
However, her natal Sun in Taurus (0°30’) is void, of course—meaning it receives no significant aspects from transiting planets.
This astrological void reflects her political isolation since losing the support of USR (Save Romania Union).

Nicusor Dan’s natal astrological chart
The North Node and Saturn square his natal Sun in Sagittarius (27°53’)—a complicated configuration.
His natal Venus in Sagittarius (19°17’) also receives a separating square from Jupiter, reducing his ability to attract favorable attention or alliances.
The transiting Sun is conjunct with his natal Moon, emphasizing intense self-expression and emotional vulnerability.

Victor Ponta’s astrology transits
His natal Sun in Virgo (27°41’) is under mixed influences: it receives a supportive trine from transiting Uranus, but also a challenging square from Saturn and a contact from the transiting North Node, suggesting tension in future responsibilities, like a crossing juncture.
His Moon in Aquarius (23°39’) is also receiving conflicting aspects—a beneficial trine from Jupiter in Gemini, which enhances communication and public receptivity, but also a square from Uranus in late Taurus, indicating emotional unpredictability and possible public backlash.
Additionally, the Ascendant will form a square to his natal Moon, pointing to potential disruption between his inner emotional state and the outside projected emotional estate.
Lastly, Saturn squares his natal Jupiter in Sagittarius (29°33’), a restrictive influence that could limit expansion, optimism, or political confidence during this period.
His natal Sun, connected to Mercury and Mars in conjunction but also to Pluto in a stellium, offers an undesirable combination of discrepancy between communication and intentions, a very deceptive nature. It is a second Machiavellian combination, precisely because Pluto is also present. It is the most unfortunate combination of planets in this sense after the Mercury-Neptune combination, with provocative aspects.

Crin Antonescu’s natal astrological chart
Like Simion, his Virgo Sun (27°19’) receives a Uranus trine and a Saturn square. His Taurus Moon (13°14’) is combusted—within the beams of the Sun in Aries—limiting emotional status.
Venus, Neptune, and Saturn oppose his natal Mercury, creating mixed messaging or a total mind meltdown.
His natal Jupiter is caught between a supportive trine from Saturn and an opposing Uranus—highlighting a contradiction in judgment.
His natal Venus is also void, which weakens appeal or charm.

George Simion’s natal astrological chart
His Sun in Virgo (27°58’) receives a square from Saturn and a trine from Uranus, mirroring aspects in Crin Antonescu’s chart.
The Midheaven opposes his debilitated natal Venus in Scorpio (10°51’), possibly suggesting public image challenges.
The natal Moon and Pluto are under pressure from a square to transiting Pluto, which indicates deep internal conflict or transformation. Once Pluto squares his natal Pluto to a perfect degree, the change is imminent.

Cristian Terheș’s natal astrological chart
His natal Moon is well-supported, receiving beneficial sextiles from Venus and Neptune, although Pluto is conjunct it (separating), indicating lingering transformation.
However, his natal Sun in Sagittarius (11°28’) is not receiving significant transiting support (transiting void course).
Still, it isn’t good because the Sun is conjunct with Mercury in his natal chart, which combination acts more subversively, with Mercury being debilitated in Sagittarius.
His Venus in Scorpio (7°55’, in detriment) is squared by transiting Mars in Leo, adding tension or conflict to his values and appeal.

Lavinia Șandru‘s natal astrological chart
Her natal Sun in Aquarius (16°54’) will be under pressure, receiving challenging aspects from both the transiting Sun and Moon. These astrological aspects suggest potential conflict regarding public recognition during the election period.
However, as in Cristian Terhes’s natal chart, her Sun deforms reality more through public recognition.
Additionally, the transiting Midheaven will form a square to her exalted Venus in Pisces (8°50’), indicating challenges in how the public and media receive her values, image, or appeal.
While her Mars is well-placed in Capricorn, it is currently in a void-of-course state, meaning it lacks activating transits. Mars in Capricorn is all about aggression in its purest form, which means diminishing her fight potential.

Silviu Predoiu’s natal astrological chart
His natal chart shows a void-of-course natal Moon in Aries (12°15’), indicating a potential to to arouse emotion.
His natal Sun in Leo (12°04’) will receive a square from the transiting Sun in Taurus, especially during early voting abroad, suggesting possible tension or resistance in public perception.
In the first two days of overseas voting, the transiting Sun will also conjoin Mars in Taurus (combustion), intensifying volatility and signaling potential conflict or disruption in foreign electorates.
On the positive side, Jupiter in Gemini will form a trine to his natal Jupiter in Libra (24°50’), indicating expansion, favorable opportunities, and alignment with broader trends.
However, Jupiter in transit will oppose his natal Saturn in Sagittarius (19°23’), creating internal friction between optimism and caution—growth versus responsibility.
Finally, special attention should be given to Pisces degrees of the natal Sun, Moon, or Jupiter, which are associated with losses or weakened influence.

John Ion Banu Mușcel’s natal astrological chart
His natal Sun in Cancer (15°47’) will receive a supportive sextile from the transiting Sun in Taurus, offering vitality and opportunities for visibility, particularly during public engagements.
Notably, the transiting Sun will also conjoin his natal Mars around early voting abroad, signaling a surge in personal drive during that period.
However, he faces emotional and perceptual challenges: transiting Venus and Neptune will square his debilitated natal Moon in Capricorn (3°35’). This configuration suggests confusion in emotional expression, potential public misreading, or strained personal connections.

Daniel Funeriu’s natal astrological chart
His Aries Sun (20°32’) receives a sextile from Jupiter—a highly favorable and expansive influence. His Taurus Moon (23°13’) receives a trine from transiting Jupiter in Gemini.
Pluto also trines his natal Jupiter, and the Sun sextiles his Venus in Pisces—a well-rounded chart for public contests.

Sebastian Popescu’s natal astrological chart
His Aquarius Sun (23°23’) receives a trine from Jupiter in Gemini—a positive, opportunity-driven transit. Chiron, Vertex, and the transiting Midheaven form sextile with his natal Sun, which suggests the potential for a moment of recognition.
Jupiter also forms a trine with his natal Saturn in Libra (22°06’)—suggesting recognition for reforms, justice, and strategic competence.
Furthermore, his natal Moon is void, which is good because his natal Moon is conjunct Mars (detriment).

Evaluating Candidates Based on Astrology
To determine which candidate has the best chance in the first round of elections:
- Candidates whose natal Sun receives strong, supportive aspects, especially from Jupiter, Mars, Venus, Uranus, Neptune, or Pluto, are favored.
- Sun signs in Leo or exalted Aries are favored if accompanied by harmonious transits.
- A void Sun is a significant disadvantage, even if the Moon is well-aspected.
Case Example: Călin Georgescu
On November 24, 2024:
- His natal Sun in Aries was well-supported by transiting Sun and Ascendant.
- His natal Moon received a trine from Neptune, a sextile from Pluto, and an opposition from Uranus—a dynamic but supportive mix.
- The Midheaven was conjunct with his fallen Venus in Aries, suggesting popularity despite flaws.

Who Might Win the 2025 Romanian Election?
Based on the astrological configurations:
- Daniel Funeriu and Sebastian Popescu appear to have the strongest charts, with Funeriu favored slightly more due to a better-supported Sun.
- A competitive race for third place is likely between Nicușor Dan and Crin Antonescu, both of whom have mixed and similar but intense transit charts.
